Webb Simpson is an American golfer

Webb Simpson is an American golfer who plays professionally on the US PGA Tour. He is most notable for being the winner of the US Open title in 2012. Simpson had a glittering career as an amateur where he was a member of the United States tem during their victorious Walker Cup and Palmer Cup campaigns in 2007. He was a student of the Wake Forest University and played on the golf team on the Arnold Palmer scholarship programme.

After he turned professional, Simpson joined the Nationwide Tour where he finished in second place twice. He qualified for the US PGA Tour after finishing tied for seventh in the 2008 PGA Tour Qualifying School. He won his first titles on the US PGA Tour in 2011 when he secured victories in the Wyndham Championship as well as the FedEx Cup playoff event at the Deutsche Bank Championship. These wins ensured Webb Simpson finished second on the money list for the US PGA Tour that season. He was also a part of the United States team that won the Presidents Cup that year.

The pinnacle of his career so far came in 2012 when he won his first major title at the US Open at the Olympic Club. Having shot a two under 68 score in the final round, not many people expected it to be a winning score but it was enough to give Simpson his first taste of a major title with the others chasing him faltering on their scores. Webb Simpson – Member of Walker Cup

Webb Simpson is a professional golfer from the United States of America who is currently a member of the US PGA Tour and mostly remembered for his win at the US Open in 2012.

Starting his career as an amateur, Simpson was a member of the Walker Cup winning United States team in 2007 as well as the team that won the Palmer Cup that same year. Simpson was a student of the Wake Forest University where he studied and played under the Arnold Palmer Scholarship.

Since he turned professional, Simpson was a member of the Nationwide Tour where he finished in the second place on two occasions. He earned his pass to compete on the US PGA Tour after finishing with a T-7 in the 2008 PGA Tour Qualifying School. (more…)
